Self-Service Kiosks

Three self-service emissions testing kiosks are available in Chicago, giving motorists the flexibility to test their vehicles at a time that best fits their schedule. These kiosks provide a convenient alternative to traditional vehicle inspection stations. While the kiosk is easy to use and requires no special knowledge of vehicles or testing, we recommend locating your vehicle’s Data Link Connector (DLC) prior to arriving to perform the test. Most DLCs can be found under the dashboard below the steering wheel. You can refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for exact DLC location information.

The Kiosk itself offers audio or text in in English or Spanish to step you through the testing process. Click here to view the video. (Para ver en español, haga clic aqui.)
