Second Emissions Testing Self-Service Kiosk Goes Live in Chicago

As part of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency effort to increase emissions testing program convenience for Chicago residents, the Agency announced that a second self-testing kiosk is now available at 2560 West Cermak Rd in the city. This is a companion to the other kiosk at 6959 W. Forest Preserve Dr.

This Kiosk provides motorists with the opportunity to conveniently test their own vehicle any hour of the day, 24-7, instead of visiting a traditional inspection station during business hours. The kiosk is easy to use and requires no special knowledge of vehicles or testing. Software screens provide audio and pictorial instructions and step motorists through the testing process. There is also an instructional video on the kiosk which shows how to use the system. Kiosk test instructions are available in English or Spanish.

At the end of the test, motorists will be able to print their vehicle inspection report or obtain a copy on line at the program website, www.illinoisairteam.net. They will also be asked to take a short survey (less than 30 seconds) regarding their experience at the kiosk.
